OPI Muppets Collection

Seeing how this line doesn't launch until the Holidays (November/December), we are jumping the gun big time on announcing this collection but we are so excited we couldn't help ourselves! We grew up with the Muppets so we were giddy when we heard about this collaboration. Since this line is a long time out all we have is pictures but we will keep you updated when we hear more. Like a magpie our eyes immediately were attracted to the glitter collection. Ooh la la!

Fun French Manicure

Nailpolish is the cheapest, quickest and easiest way to update your look. The designer Yves Saint Laurent sent these colorful nails down his runway. We love the mix and match of colorful polished nails and tips! It's something fun and different from the french manicure norm. We cant wait to try this new trend out!

how-to: Ombre Nails

You may have noticed the ladies of Salon K are having a major love affair with the ombre hair trend! Well we can now spread our obsession to our nails! We can thank Lauren Conrad for this trend, she was spotted in LA with a red to pink ombre.
So what exactly are ombre nails? It's a manicure using 5 different polishes of the same tone that graduate from light to dark. Paint the darkest color on your thumb and finish with the lightest color on your pinky. Make sure you pick colors that truly show a graceful progression from one shade to the next so the ombre looks intentional (not like you randomly threw colors on). We want to try it this weekend!

"Crazy" Nail Art

When it comes to making a statement, celebrities don't hold back. A simple way to steal the spotlight is with their nails and the crazy nail art designs they choose. They declare their love (for example Heidi Montag for Spencer Pratt or Katy Perry for her husband Russel Brand), their mood (Lindsay Lohan with the famous "fuck you" mani) as well as their state of mind or even their political views (like Eve with the Obama nails). Spring/Summer 2011 Nail Trends

These are the main trends for the season by the main and most important nail polish brands: Chanel, NARS, OPI, Essie, China Glaze, Orly. All the other brands follow as always the trends. To sum up, if you want to steal the spotlight this season with your mani/pedis go for yellow, orange, hot pink, lilac, mint green or bright blue. You can always play it safe with pearl, white, pale pink or red nails, but what's the point? Summer screams for color!
