perfect skin.

On the runways recently, bare skin has been showing up a lot, surprisingly. Instead of pounding on that smokey eye and caking on that liquid foundation, it's time to give your skin a break and a treatment that will make you dare to go bare. Not all of us have model-perfect skin, but with a good skin regimen, you can get that skin.
1) Prep your skin: The first step to a clear complexion is very simple: clear up imperfections. If you have any skin issues such as acne, or scars first visit a dermatologist. If you don't have such problematic skin, stick to these products: cleanser (something sulfate-free like Cetaphil), a night time moisturizer ( something with olive or coconut oil for dry skin or humectants for oily skin), eye- cream (try a formulation with green tea or cucumber to de-puff), and last but not least sunscreen (it helps having a moisturizer with spf already in it).
2) Exfoliate: To achieve a radiance, you need to exfoliate once or twice a week. If you go to a dermatologist they can perform a chemical peel or micro-dermabrasion , which is good for evening out the skin tone, but it can be a bit pricey. I would recommend getting a good exfoliator without any harsh chemicals. You can even make your own with all natural ingredients at home with amazing benefits. homemade exfoliator
3) Reach for an Rx: Prescription strength retinoic acid stimulates cell turnover and promotes collagen formation, leaving a glowy complexion. Retinoids also gently exfoliate, tightening pores and fighting acne. Ask your doctor if it's right for your skin or start with a less intense-over the counter version: Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Retinoid Pads and Solution, $70.
4) Nourish your Face: To keep your face hydrated and healthy, eat foods rich in healthy fats like: salmon, nuts, avocado, and olive oil. Tomatoes, peppers, and citrus fruits have antioxidants which protect the skin from sun damage and pollution. If you have oily skin, have more cinnamon; it balances your blood sugar reducing oil production. Also, go light on dairy products and junk food because they can trigger breakouts.
5) Exercise: When you exercise you sweat which detoxifies the pores making your skin more clear. (Don't forget to wash all that sweat and dirt off though!) In addition, it increases your blood circulation feeding your skin cells with oxygen.
6) Clean your Stuff: Extra dirt and grease that can be lying on your makeup brushes, cellphone, and even face towel can trigger breakouts. Make sure you wash your linens, washcloths and face towel once a week to prevent bacteria from transferring to the skin as well as your makeup brushes every two weeks.
7) Give a Spritz of Rosewater: I just found out this tip recently and it's amazing. When your skin needs a lift or even your mood for the matter, just mist your face and it refreshes your makeup and gives you a bright dewy complexion. Plus it reduces redness and keeps you calm with it's gorgeous aroma.
8) Get some rest honey: Getting a good night sleep can really help with dark-circles and even bags under the eyes. For those who really can't get rid of their dark circles with extra sleep, use some tea bags on your eyes. The herbs will not only de-puff, but brighten your eyes. You can also try pressing a cold towel on your under-eye circles. If all fails-trying a sheer liquid concealer with light-reflecting properties! It will brighten shadowy areas !
9) Prime Yourself: Not everyone walks the runway for a living, so I'm guessing wearing just a little bit on the skin is pretty normal. To create a shine free complexion without cakey powder, smooth on a primer with silicone polymers. It absorbs sebum and creates a porcelain finish. Apple a few dots over the entire face to create flawlessness.
10) A light touch: Who needs heavy foundation? A tinted moisturizer evens out skin tone without all the cakeyness.
