The more affordable option would be a DIY Lolly Buffet. There are so many "Dollar" "Reject" shop's around it would be easy to purchase a variance of affordable vases and jars & Lolly scoops. I would then create indication tags for the sweets in accordance with the wedding theme or menu and some personalised take home bags or boxes for guests to fill up, Ebay has many in different shapes and sizes.
Being a little organised if you had time before the day I would set up the candy bar on on a dining room table so you could get the layout of how you would prefer the Jars/ glasses to sit (Use the pictures below as a guide). Take a photograph and leave a trusted friend in charge with a few instructions to set it up on the day.
For our wedding we had a very cost effective option, my husband insisted that we had towers of Pineapple tarts & Cupcakes, he ordered 75 from his favorite bakery at a cost of $75. I ordered 60 plain white boxes online From Ebay at $36 and printed out some stickers that a friend helped fix to the top of each box:
The Reception Theme ran along the lines of "Eat, Drink & Be Merry"
