My Very First EBAY Venture.

So, I've been meaning to get going on an Ebay account for quite some time now.
I set it up back in May, but then procrastinated (typical me) over all that verification malarky you have to go through to get it working until tonight, when I found I could no longer bear staring at the bag of discarded clothes in the corner of my room.

All the stuff I'm selling is in perfect condition (most of it is new), and I'm selling everything at very reasonable prices, so it would be great if you guys could check it out!

Here's a link to my EBAY, and here's to hoping I actually make a few sales.

Below are some examples of the things I'll be selling.
If anyone has any tips or ideas for me, I'd be more than happy to take them into consideration!

Deena & Ozzy brogues from Urban Outfitters- buy now for €12 (or bidding starts at €6)

Primark chiffon shirt- bidding starting at €5

Silence & Noise top from Urban Outfitters- buy now for €6 (or bidding starts at €2)

There are also a few more things for sale, with more to come.

Pillow talk...

The self imposed shopping ban has been lifted (by myself) and I have ordered a few pillows that I of course don't need.

I went to my favorite Miss Gingham on Ebay and bought one of these

To sit with the birdie pair that I already have (from the same store).

And also sitting next to Mr & Mrs Chevron Ikat - Also an Ebay purchase but from Here

I am sure Mr Greek key would like to sit on the lounge also....

Lonny chair - Ebay find

This image from the latest Lonny mag is beautiful:

This then had me searching on Ebay for something similar - I searched "brass chair" and this is what I found for $120 here . Just putting it out there but it seams that allot of nice things appear if you type "Brass" into Ebay/ Craigslist or Gumtree (try it- I double dare you).

Allot of you were cautious of me posting my Ebay finds - Our apartment is full to the brim - I purely search these things because I love the thrill of the chase, nothing makes me happier than finding a budget friendly version of something that probably cost a motza.

Does anyone want me to search your city for a bargain?

Ebay find of the day- Bamboo chairs

Is seams that many of you beautiful Black Velvet Chair readers have a great eye for finding a bargain and seeing the potential in everything.

Sooooo the $1 Million dollar home I posted yesterday made me feel depressed and disheartened with the Sydney real estate situation I was then led to shopping on ebay for Bamboo chairs....what else is a girl to do when you don't have $1 Million dollars in your pocket? (we can't all be "Winning" like Mr Charlie Sheen).

Option 1
Located in Melbourne and currently no bids at $70 (only 1 day left).
OMG check out the detail at the corner where the leg meets the cross bar - Devinne!.

Option 2
These beauty's are in Windsor (Sydney).....Stop me now.....bid, bid, bid!

I imagine these would look great at either end of a big table.
(Karina - you say I never mention you on this blog.....you must buy these for your big table)
I would paint them gloss white and pair with beautiful cushions covered in a floral Missoni Fabric (as below).

The brass & marble side table @ Home

Here are some photos of the side table in the lounge - sorry for the blurry late night photos (I will take some proper lounge photos when I get a spare minute at home in natural light). The table is so convenient & I love that the table ties the chairs in as a permanent fixture in the room. If I am blogging at home you will usually find me sitting in a Black Velvet chair with a remote & wine in hand - hence the practical styling of the remotes on the side table.

PS: I am in dire need to update the wall of frames behind - I am thinking 8 large frames in a 4 by 2 arrangement- What do you think? .

Ebay Find- Side table

In the 40+ degree heat on Saturday afternoon I dragged my dear husband to Western Sydney to pick up this beautiful brass and carrera marble side table. You can't really tell from the shocking listing picture but it is amazingly stunning & totally happy with the steal price of $8...+ about $30 in petrol and tolls. It is now sitting proudly between the black velvet chairs in our lounge room, the brass on the table matches perfect with the brass nail head trim on the chairs (photos to come).

Silk Ikat Pillows

A Package arrived for me 2 weeks ago and I knew exactly what it was, this little beauty had come all the way from Uzbekistan, it was wrapped beautifully in brown paper and twine and sealed with a wax seal.

In the package were 2 x Ikat pillow cases $25.28 + $8 postage, I purchased these on eBay. They took about 4 weeks to arrive but the wait was well worth it (I think they accidentally shipped them to Austria first) 2 x Silk Ikat pillow cases here

Here they sit on the Black Velvet Chair in our lounge room

They have a great range of Silk Pillow cases, all standard sizes and reasonably priced, have a look at the range of silk pillow cases they stock here AntiquarianTextiles. The quality is good, it does feel more like raw silk that has not been highly processed.

Here are a few of the other designs that I am loving (from the same store):

"Foo Dogs" Ebay Find of the day

Ebay False Eyelashes Take 2

Hey lovely ladies

This is a video for you, thought you could see them a bit better, I did try putting them on but because of lack of scissors they were too long and didn't look great!

Excuse my voice I've got a bit of flu and then my nose decided to start bleeding right at the end of the video

Enjoy!

So Amazed I Can't Think Of A Title!

Hey lovely ladies,

Sorry for being a bit AWOL lately but I'm back! So on the 17th July I placed an order on Ebay and it turned up on my doorstep today! Yep, I'm sure you can guess from the delivery period that it was from Hong Kong and it was for these AMAZING false eyelashes

That's 20 pairs of false eyelashes and 5 tubes of glue for £2.99 yes, £2.99! And that's including P&P, I'll include a link at the bottom of this post. They are quite thick and you can buy natural ones but I'm really glad I got these ones. I don't tend to wear full false eyelashes, so just one up to use on both my eyes and this was the result (my right eye wasn't finished when this photo was taken!)

I did do these after applying mascara (the postie turned up whilst I was doing my make up and I was too excited so had to apply them straight away. I'm so so impressed with these, I reckon they'll last me a while but when I'm done I am for sure reordering! On a side note, I had no reaction to the glue, it is the same type (possibly the same glue) that you get in false eyelash sets from Claires etc, not the best but stays on all day.

What do you think? Where do you usually get your eyelashes from?

Amazingly cheap brushes!

Hola!
A little while ago, Fiona had a post about a set of 15 nail brushes that she thought could also be used as make up brushes too, so of course after seeing a Benefit Get Bent brush dupe in there I had to check it out, and at a price of 99p + £1.95 p&p (you do the math!) I thought it was a deal not worth missing out on!

So I think I ordered about maybe 8/9 days ago and as it's coming from Hong Kong expected delivery is 8-15 days. And I was not disappointed -- there's such a variety of brushes and yep, that Get Bent dupe is just perfect!

Look at how many you get! But the following two are the best I reckon, they're great for eyeliner,

I really would recommend checking these out, I had no problems that you might expect from ordering half way around the world, have a look here

Thanks for reading!
