My Most Used Brushes

Morning lovely ladies!

I was thinking yesterday, I really do only use a few of my brushes. I decided to leave out my MAC ones, as great as they are I think it's nice to show a few alternatives which are just as good if not better. These are the brushes I can't live without, followed with a little about each one

ELF Professional Eyeshadow Brush - £1.50

 It's a bit scratchy and not good at defining but it's perfect at giving a wash of colour and that's why I love it! It's also lasted me a very long time and it's really cheap

  Boots No.7 Eyeshadow Blend & Contour Brush - £6.50

Can you believe I bought this, then received the £5 off voucher? That must be a first! Absolutely amazing brush, good dupe for a MAC 217. Really good at getting into the crease, not so good at providing a wash of colour, but hey that's what my ELF is for ;)

H&M Angled Contouring Brush - around £2

This brush has lasted me a good year or so, and I think some H&M branches still sell it in the make up area. Amazing brush, really good for contouring but I also love it for blusher. Gives my face definition and I love love love it. I don't know how people can live without one of these types of brushes

Topshop Eyeliner Brush - £3

 When I saw this brush I thought to myself I am not going to buy this if it costs more than £6. So to see it for only £3 I was ecstatic. Such a good brush, it's sturdy, the bristles don't bend at all and it can be used for thin lines, thick lines, wings and for creating the thinnest line in the inner corner of your eye. I will ensure that I have this brush with me for the rest of my life!

Review: Mini Straighteners

Hey ladies!

Thought I'd try out aligning my text to the centre, if you don't like it please let me know, I think it makes it a bit easier to read?

The other day I happened to notice that ASOS not only had free delivery (you know how I hate P&P!) but a sale too. And after lusting after the Topshop Mini Straighteners at a relatively mini price of £10 I've had the idea on my mind for some time. So when I saw this pair for around £5 I had to have them, they're still available but you can't find them by searching so I'll post a link at the bottom of this post. I'm sure they're pretty much identical to the Topshop ones, they look the same and have the specifications. They are even in the same mini case. Also, look out for the Topshop branded mini car straighteners!  They do warn not to use them whilst driving though ladies.

ASOS Mini Straighteners - £5.25

Now are they any good? I bought these because I find my normal straighteners are a bit too bulky for my fringe, and having a full fringe does require a lot of maintenance and these are just GREAT. They're really good for getting right into the roots and leave a lovely bounce to my fringe. I thought I'd have a go at curling a piece of hair with them too, you know what I mean, those tutorials on Youtube where people make it look so easy? It is with these! Wouldn't fancy doing my whole head with it but it's great for giving a bit of bounce to my layers too.

So yes, I think this is greeeat and the quality is just fab despite the low price

Body Shop Eyelash Curlers

Hey ladies!

First of all sorry for being a bit quiet lately I dropped my camera in the fish tank as I was taking my first OOTD post (it would've been a really good post as well!) so you'll have to excuse stock images for a couple of days :( going to PC World today. I'm thanking God I bought their 'whatever happens' cover, I got this camera about a month ago after a friend spilt her cocktail on my last one. I can be so clumsy!

Anyways, my friend and I went Harrods and Knightsbridge shopping (hello sexy new perfume!) yesterday, it's such a lovely place and I had £10 burning a hole in my pocket. Out comes the Blackberry and after a quick Google I discover Body Shop's Eyelash curlers are one of the best for under £10. They're not wrong, and with my Body Shop discount they cost me only £4.50. I love them! (When I get my camera back I'll give you before and after shots)

I need help! MAC 188 Brush

Just a really quick post, but a while back I got this brush free of charge from MAC (okay okay it was a mix up in orders but they let me keep it!) but I can't for the life of me work out how to use it. What do you use it for? And how do you use it? Or how would you?

A flat-topped, full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of any formula colour – fluid, cream, powder or pigment. Ideal for creating soft layers or adding textures. Made from a soft blend of goat and synthetic fibres.

If you buy one thing. .

Hey ladies!
Sorry it's been a while, just been feeling a bit sad lately but that doesn't matter, on to what I think you NEED in your life right now. .

Boots Four Way Nail Buffer - £2.00

Yep, it's only £2. Now I'm sure you can probably get these cheaper online or whatever but I think this is by far one of the best (hey it's about time I did a positive review right?)

Let me take you through the four sides and how to use them;

• File Nail Edge: Pretty much files your nail edge ;) Use in a sweeping movement in one direction don't use it like a saw it can damage your nails!

 

• Remove Ridges: You do this over the whole nail and it removes those ridges you get. This is good to do before applying nail varnish as it gives you a really even base to paint over. Also if you do this step over the top of a shiny nail varnish it will remove the shine and give you matte nails. I love doing this especially with black nail varnish (although make sure you let it dry first, as you can see from the black marks I'm quite impatient when it comes to doing this)

• Smooth Nail. Again this does exactly what it says. By this step your nails will be completely transformed. I know you wouldn't expect it but it's actually so great :)

• And lastly Shine Nail. This WORKS. I'm not even joking this shine that it gives rivals a clear nail varnish, with the advantage of being completely natural. By doing this, I've had so many compliments on how strong my nails look and how pretty they are and are they real?

Seriously guys BUY THIS. Even if you have to use your Ad Card points just do it! You won't regret it and you'll find your nail varnish goes on much nicer and it takes less than 5 mins to do :)

Amazingly cheap brushes!

Hola!

A little while ago, Fiona had a post about a set of 15 nail brushes that she thought could also be used as make up brushes too, so of course after seeing a Benefit Get Bent brush dupe in there I had to check it out, and at a price of 99p + £1.95 p&p (you do the math!) I thought it was a deal not worth missing out on!

So I think I ordered about maybe 8/9 days ago and as it's coming from Hong Kong expected delivery is 8-15 days. And I was not disappointed -- there's such a variety of brushes and yep, that Get Bent dupe is just perfect!

Look at how many you get! But the following two are the best I reckon, they're great for eyeliner,
