ZIT zapper

You can't make a zit magically disappear, but these tricks are the next best thing.
1. Use a medical primer. It smooths the roug hskin around a zit so concealer doesn't slide off, and it contains willow bark to heal your breakouts. Try: Cover FX Clear Prep FX Matte Foundation Primer & Anti-Acne Treatment $39, Sephora
2. Find the right brush. A small flat brush with a rounded tip helps you paint the cover up on exactly the right spot. Try: Sonya Kashuk Kashuk Tools Synthetic Concealer brush, $10, Target
3. Apply concealer. Pick a cover up that ocntains salicylic acid to treat your pimple while you hide it. Do it directly on the zit and blend.

"A cream concealer gives the best coverage, but make sure to set it with translucent powder. Use a powder puff instead of a brush- the bristles can ruin the finish"-Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian's Makeup Artist

"Pimples that are dry and crusty are the most noticeable. Dot an emollient, like Rosebud Salve, on the spot before you apply concealer to keep it from cracking"-Rahcel Goodwin, Chanel Makeup Artist for Hilary Duff

How to pick a Foundation:
The best way to find a perfect match is to try it on. (the way a color looks in a glass bottle is not how it looks on your skin.) Swipe 3 shades (close to your skin color) along your jawline-the one that disappears is your color.

If you're in a drug store:
Find a brand with testers or color swatches that you can hold to your cheek. Check your options near a window - natural light
lets you see the truest color.

If you're in a department store:
Talk to the experts (people who work there) at the make up counter. They'll help you test colors until you get the exact shade.

If you can't test it:
*try a tinted moisturizer melds right in into your skin so you get a subtle glow.
*pick a foundation with two shades in one it lets you easily adjust the color to suit your skin.
*use a color-adapting formula. it reacts to your skin's pigment, so it's hard to pick the wrong one.

TIP: stuck between two shades? buy both- then return one or mix them to create your own color.
