Ryan Gosling has been a neo-nazi, a romantic lead, a killer, a teacher, a mouseketeer, and a footballer among many other things. One thing that he has not been awarded for is his uncanny ability to dress well. Whether its for a big award night or just a casual day, the man knows how to dress for every situation. If more men dressed like this, the world would be a lot more aesthetically pleasing. So men, take notes! I've highlighted some of his best looks.

MTV Movie Awards: Best Dressed
This years' MTV Movie Awards was not only funny but the fashion was also fantastic. One of my favorite parts about it was that people dressed to their personalities. I can't stand when a stylist dresses a celebrity completely different than their personality and image. It not only looks odd, but it makes the person uncomfortable.
Now on to my Best Dressed list, first the women.
1. Reese Witherspoon. As she is the recipient of the Generation Award, it's fitting that she should be best dressed. I love the print and heart cut. The Movie Awards are all about fun fashion & this is definitely a fun cocktail dress.
2. Leighton Meester. I may get some slack for this choice but I hands down love it. I am such a fan of embellishments like sequins and reflective pieces. I wish it had been a little more fitted to her body, but I still love it. It's great that the design is sort of mismatched because it sets it apart from all the other mirrorball dresses.
3. Rosie Huntington Whiteley. Rosie looks fantastic in this tiger print. It's not often that you see tiger print as zebra and leopard are more popular. I love how well she accessorized with this outfit; her shoes and handbag match brilliantly but remain understated.
4. Mila Kunis. This outfit is so simple and chic. It is also so easy to replicate in your own life, which I think is fantastic. This is a great look to go to lunch, dinner or a night out with your girlfriends. It's very multi-faceted. This is also an example of the fact that you don't have to dress provocative to look good.
5. Selena Gomez. I don't think anyone would have pulled this look off as well as Selena. The silk top and ruched skirt fit her body so well. It makes her look incredibly sophisticated. The tan and ivory coloring is also great for summer.
Honorable Mentions (in no particular order).
Blake Lively
Katie Cassidy
Emma Stone
Emma Watson
Now on to the men
1. Ryan Gosling. It is no secret on this blog that I adore the way Ryan dresses. He has such a unique style that suits him perfectly. His outfit at the Movie Awards was no different. When he walked on stage, I was in aw of his ability to pair such different pieces of clothing together. Wearing a rough leather jacket, black v-neck and blue trousers he looked the essence of cool.
2. Ryan Reynolds looks classy casual as always. A mix of the Hamptons summer meets London elegance. Just by layering a casual cardigan he changes the entire look of this outfit to a more comfortable chic.
3. Xavier Samuel. What a way for Xavier to stand out on his own; wearing a great black three piece suit with a vintage style waistcoat. He looks extremely well groomed and clean cut, and what gals don't like that?
4. Jason Sudeikis. I always believe the host should be one of the best dressed of any evening because they will be the one you look at throughout the night. Jason definitely looked the part in his charcoal gray suit and royal blue tie. I love the small details of the pocket square and tie clip.
5. Tom Felton. The winner of the best villain award looks tranquil in this nautical inspired look. Wearing a navy striped white shirt and matching navy blazer and trousers, Tom looks ready for the sea. Or at the very least a night at the country club.

Best Dressed: Critics' Choice Awards
There were some really incredible fashions at this year's Critics' Choice Awards. I've compiled my top ten below. Black and White was definitely the trend with a few shades of color strewn here and there.
1. Mila Kunis. I am absolutely in love with this look. It's a very romantic look with the soft sheer fabric and gentle pleating combined with the satin ribbons for her waistline and shoes. This look definitely gives a nod to her character Lily in Black Swan. It was a perfect decision on her part because it also compliments her complexion and dark hair perfectly.
2. Hailee Steinfeld. For a newcomer, she chose a great dress. The nude color looks effortless as it blends with her skin tone. Her messy loose hair helps maintain her youthful energy and image. The only thing I would change would be the shoes, they look a little too golden yellow for the rest of the look.
3. Mandy Moore. This plum gown is so simple and elegant. It's very much a representation of her. She exudes class and this was a great choice for her.
4. Kim Kardashian. As always Kim wore a knockout outfit. This dress has an almost phoenix look about it with its tangerine color and ruffled mermaid skirt. The silk really complements her famous form.
5. Emma Stone. With her new blonde hair, this shimmery silver dress was a great choice. It fits her body perfectly and the chained neck gives a little extra pizazz to the look.
6. Michelle Williams. This is a much more conservative look than some of the other dresses at the Critics' Choice, but its not so conservative that it makes her look older than she is. The embellishments add just enough detail without going over the top.
7. Natalie Portman. This black and white dress is very classic and elegant. Compared to some of the other dresses she has been wearing since announcing her pregnancy, this the best by far. She has found the correct way to still be beautiful and sophisticated while being pregnant.
8. Keri Hilson 9. Lala Vazquez. Both these girls look fantastic. Keri kept it fun in this cocktail dress. The sheer neckline helps the dress look fabulous and not trashy. Lala opted for an elegant white dress with a subtle criss-cross of a pearl ribbon.
10. Eva Mendes. This is one of the more over the top looks of the evening. But I really happen to like the dramatically oversized bow. I am always a sucker for black lace over a nude dress.
Now I also have to add to the list my best dressed male. It may seem like an obvious choice because I am completely biased to him as of late, but I've chosen Ryan Gosling.
He has had an amazing transformation this past year when it comes to fashion. I give a huge kudos to his stylist for making him one of the best dressed men in Hollywood. He was the only nominated actor of the evening to take a risk with his look and it definitely paid off. The dark violet color of the jacket is incredible with the soft velvet lapel. The choice to not wear a tie and opt for a slightly un-buttoned white collar shirt gave this a relaxed look. A good style for the relaxed environment of the Critics' Choice Awards. The best part about this outfit is that it fits! All too often men wear over sized jackets or pants because they don't get them tailored correctly.
Do you agree or disagree with some of my choices? Are there any others you think I missed?
I'll also be uploading a Golden Globes Fashion run down so make sure to check back here in a couple days!

Airport Attire with Ryan Gosling and Jake Gyllenhaal
In this new edition of Airport Attire, I am using Ryan Gosling and Jake Gyllenhaal as references as to how guys should dress when traveling.
Ryan Gosling is a great example of being fashionable while traveling. He took clues from his latest film project, Drive, where he stars alongside Carey Mulligan. Here is an image of his wardrobe on the set:
Notice the V-neck white button up shirt and leather driving gloves as well as the dark sunglasses. Ryan emulates this same look at the airport in these images:
Here we see Ryan is wearing a similar white V-neck shirt underneath a gray cardigan and suede brown zip up jacket. He wears leather driving gloves just like his character, as well as dark sunglasses. His sunglasses are a tortoise shell frame, which nicely complements his jacket. Ryan also wears grayish-green colored leather shoes, similar to his off white shoes from set.
He looks extremely put together. However, when looking at the actual items he's wearing, they are nothing you couldn't find in your own closet. Most of this outfit is basics. If you don't have a suede jacket, wear another zip up jacket instead. The leather shoes could easily be substituted with boots.
Jake Gyllenhaal is casually dressed in his latest travels through the airport. Here we see him wearing nothing more than a T-shirt and jeans.
To add a level of sophistication to this outfit, Jake wears Ray Ban wayfarer sunglasses. In my opinion, Ray Bans can make anyone look good. There are such a wide variety of styles that are able to fit every face perfectly. Jake slightly tucks in his shirt in the front, showing his brown leather belt which matches his brown leather shoes. Guys: Belts do help in fashion! If you have a keen eye, you will have noticed that Ryan Gosling is also wearing a belt above.
This is a very simple outfit on Jake but still looks great.
Hope this helps you stay fashionable as Holiday traveling is right around the corner!
