STYLESTALKER

I recently fell in love with StyleStalker's new lookbook! I love the touch of feminine florals in this very grundgy yet modern set of looks. I always find quite difficult when trying to dress a little edgy in the hotter seasons because it often requires you to wear dark clothing. However just a few edgy pieces here and there, like the skinny jeans shown above or some booties, your look can still look summery because of the light blue hues and floral prints.

Got my eye on that floral maxi skirt.

YOUNG HOLLYWOOD

 Model: Alex Spencer
Photographer: the one and only Kimberly Gordon from Wildfox Couture
Styling: Sue-Anne & Rach & Christeric
I really really love Stylestalker's 'Young Hollywood' shoot for it's youthful and wildfox-like playfulness. Besides the fact that the amazing Kimberly Gordon from ilovewildfox was shooting this and Alex Spencer looks so amazing in these shots, the location is simply perfect, Hollywood. However, it's not like some of those other cheesy hollywood photo-shoots with super amped-up glamour, fur, and artificial lighting. This was simply chic and fun, without going too over-the-top! I applaud the whole group for putting together such a lovely shoot for stylestalker!

SOPHIE LOWE

I recently developed a girl-crush on the English actress/model, Sophie Lowe! I really love the styling for the shoot she did for Oyster Magazine not to mention the bright backgrounds. It's just making me want to paint my room over in a soft peach or lilac color. I've been always wanting to do that, but I just never really gotten around to it. However, this gives me some inspiration to actually go for it....hmm....maybe I'll check out lowes tomorrow (no pun intended).

Wildfox Fall 2011 Lookbook

I always love the Wildfox lookbooks for so many reasons. One, the models are simply flawless; two, the clothing is freaking amazing ( I want every single piece); and three, it is just so appealing. Rather than strictly posing and looking artificial, Wildfox always has these fun shoots that have personality. I think that if a company wants to market their clothing in a certain way, they have to go based on the message they're trying to portray and the type of clothing. Wildfox is generally faced towards a younger demographic especially with the logo tees, cropped tops, and in this case retro flare. If the girls were to just stand around looking blankly at the camera, the clothes wouldn't seem as much fun nor desirable. That's why I love the way they present their lookbooks. Even the makeup and styling all-together is perfect. However at the end of the day, the personality and playful vibe they give off, makes the clothing so much more coveted.
"Fall 2011 is inspired by Anita Pallenberg, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Rock concerts, 1970s magazines and clothes, soft, oversized cardigans and T shirts, stolen rock boyfriends clothes and beautiful, long flowy 70's dresses."
I think I'm in love with that red velvetine hat!

LOOKBOOK.nu; Inspiration.

I really seem to have been neglecting the fashion side of this blog in recent days, thus I am here to rectify the issue!

I have a French lecture in an hour, so I'm just going to post some Lookbook inspiration for the moment.  There is some truly amazing stuff out there, and I find myself consulting the website more and more in the mornings before I get dressed.  After a rather unsuccessful stint on the site myself, it amazes me how people return again and again with each photo as inspirational as the last; that's dedication.  Here are a few favourites of the moment;

'Singing the London Hymn'- Jamie C.

'Sens de fleurs et de miel et de l'amour'- Mike Veronica S.

'The Age of Vintage'- Melanie W.

I can't deny the fact that I go through phases all the time.  At the moment, I like collars, and long skirts (though I have yet to own one) and buns.  I'm also still very much in my camel phase.  Big rings are on the up, as I leave behind my love for flats and fully embrace loafers.

Well, this is all I have time for unfortunately, I need to leave my apartment in 15 minutes, and I still haven't done my hair or makeup- disaster! x
