Keeping it local; ORLA KIELY S/S 2011.

I'm not going to lie.. I've never been a big fan of ORLA KIELY before.  I suppose her bags were the only part of her work I had ever truly explored, as they were always on show in the handbag section of Brown Thomas, where I would frequently browse.  The bright patterns and leaf-like designs never really did anything for me, the seemed too flamboyant, and quite out of touch, and I prefer plain, solid coloured handbags anyway.

That said, Kiely's latest collection, Spring/Summer 2011, has blown me away.  I absolutely love her unique designs and quite frankly, I want to own every single look.  It's amazing to me how an Irish designer has climbed so far up the ranks of the fashion world, and she is a true inspiration.

London Fashion Week was where the London-based designer debuted her newest project, and she had hired filmmaker Gia Coppola to make a sixties-style short film of her work; amazing.  Her collection showcases vintage prints, Peter Pan style collars, tea dresses, and flowing skirts in muted tones with pops of rich colour- there is something for everyone.  Could it get any better than this?

Gia Coppola's short film can be watched exclusively on Vogue TV here.
