Peaches & Cream Hair Color
One of the prettiest color combations is blonde with subtle strawberry flecks going through the hair but this season there’s a twist, strawberry has turned to soft peach. This color has more of a golden amber tone suitable for almost anyone that likes a little pop of color to their blonde locks. What makes this peaches and cream combination different from the past strawberry and blonde hair coloring is that the blonde is more of a lighter cool tone with a warmer soft golden orange not so copperish hue which creates a more natural look “not so in your face ORANGE so to speak”.Instead of adding a lowlight which to me without warmth makes hair look flat dull and many times greenish I recommend peach as an absolutely beautiful alternative to my clients this winter season. It’s also a great way to introduce someone who has wanted to try strawberry, coppers in their hair, I have always believed in starting with a little then build up this way it’s easier to fix or remove if the end result is a dislike for both you and client. Peaches and Cream combination can be completely versatile, from a faint natural look to a more edgy desire all depends on the individual, finer weaved highlights to slicing is the technique I use to achieve this color combination on my blondes it’s simple and sexy soft beauty with an uplifting visual and attitude in a cold dreary winter season.

Steven Meisel began his career as an illustrator with women’s wear daily and switched to photography on a suggestion made by a friend, he obtained popular acclaim with his work for US and Italian Vogue and his photographs of friend Madonna in her 1992 book Sex. As one of the most powerful photographers in the fashion industry, Meisel is credited with "discovering" or promoting the careers of many successful models, including top models Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Amber Valletta, Karen Elson the list goes on, propelling them to fame by regularly featuring them in Vogue and various other campaigns. He is a master at illusions through his skills in lighting and training in illustrations which have created to date some of the most highly acclaimed and respected campaigns such as Prada and Lavan. Steven Meisel is considered one of the most successful fashion photographers in the industry, with his rock and roll vibe.
Hair Color Ombre
In the fashion world Ombré usually refers to fabric, a dying procedure that produces a pale-to-dark gradation of color or reversed, and in hair color this sort of coloring has been around awhile but is only showing up now as a trend. There are many fabulous things about this hair coloring approach: it's highly economical, incredibly low maintenance, and works with any texture or tone and you can have and create many different versions of this graduated hair color look. So imagine your hair after spending time in the sun as it always lightens the ends, but it is not a grown out color which can look dull and warn this ends up looking more polished shiny and way cool.
There are several ways of doing this; most common is a balayage (hand paint) or what I prefer backcombing. (The backcombing will help diffuse and soften the highlight, giving hair that sun-kissed, natural look) So be aware that this type of hair coloring is not your typical highlights coming from the roots. And whatever technique is used it is undeniably artful, the appeal is in its purposeful imperfection for the ultimate Ombré hair color.

Bb. Product Spotlight: Grooming Creme
Grooming Creme was created when a Bb. Stylist began blending concoctions of hand and body lotions for hair at fashion shows in the 1990's. WHY: For texture, separation, satin sheen, moisture, volume control and definition
WHO: Use very sparingly on very fine hair. Good for thick, coarse and afro textures or dry hair. Excellent choice for men, its moisturizing oils make it a good substitute for conditioner.
HOW: Start with a very small amount and build up as needed. Squeeze onto palms and work through damp hair with fingers.

Whether it’s dress up or casual put a little twist to the side as an upstyle (up-do), or take the curling iron just to the bottom of the hair, both looks can be gorgeous so try a little something different, make your appointment with your hairdresser and instead of a blow dry ask them for something like this, believe me you will shine from the inside out looking fabulous.

As the holiday’s are fast approaching and I am going onto my 2 week of being behind my chair fulltime servicing my very loyal and wonderful clients, I begin to remind them when their telling me that they have no idea what to get people for gifts that a gift certificate or product set is the best. Who would not want to receive 1hr massage or facial, mani-pedi or how about a beautiful box with styling aids, shampoo/conditioner with other little goodies a makeup application, eyebrow design are all decadent beauty gifts. Product Spotlight: Bb. Gel & Gellac
Bumble and bumble has 2 different gels to choose from.
First up is Bb. Gel. It molds firm and shiny shapes but can also brush into soft yet still-shapely forms. It's alcohol free and will not flake!
HOW: work a small amount through hair (add more as necessary); style and let dry; brush through for a softer look.
The other Bb. gel is Gellac. This is a sure-hold gel-lacquer freezes shapes with a sculpted, glistening finish- no movement and no brushing it out until you wash it out! It's also flake free.
WHO: anyone who wants hair to REALLY stay put
HOW: Start sparingly and increase as needed; work a small amount through towel dried hair (the drier the better) and sculpt, mould, spike or slick.
Photographers Spotlight 1
Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin are a Dutch fashion photographer duo both in business and in private. They are known in the fashion and photography industry has being the pioneers of introducing digitally manipulated photographs in the early 90’s, which today digital imaging is the norm .Their work for countless fashion magazines, advertising campaigns and their independent art work has brought Matadin & van Lamsweerde acclaims and worldwide recognition for being the edgy photographers that will only work as a pair and continue to explore the boundaries of reality. They have a unique way of capturing the dualities of female/male form with always a soft or dark sensual innuendos lurking through. I have admired their work for years and continue to be inspired with their ideas of how fashion and people should be photographed.
